After you've signed up/in, you can start the process of selecting and configuring a window.

Start by selecting a window, by choosing the manufacturer, model and product catalog. For the moment there are no manufacturers or models, as every object is generic, but the portal is already prepared for that use case. For the purposes of this demonstration, we will use an arched window that is configurable by rows.

.

Press the configure action, as seen in the image above, which will lead you to the Window&Door Configurator.

You will start with the most basic type of the chosen window. That window already has enough defaults set so it can be loaded right away into Revit if you so desire. However, you can change every parameter of that window using the filters on the left.

The user can also load the window at any point, meaning he can configure either all the parameters, or only a couple. This ensures a much larger reach in terms of user types.

For a window of 2 rows with 2 panels in each row, do the following steps:

  • Step 1: Click “Number of Rows”

  • Step 2: Select option “2”. “Configure Row 1” and “Configure Row 2” fields will appear.

  • Step 3: Press “Configure Row 1”, a sublevel will appear where you can choose the number of panels and configure them.

  • Step 4: Click “Number of panels” and choose 2. “Configure Panel 1” and “Configure Panel 2” now appear on the left

  • Step 5: Click “Configure Panel 1”. A new sublevel will appear.

  • Step 6: Choose dimensions and opening type and click “Apply”.

  • Step 7: Repeat steps 5 and 6 for “Configure Panel 2”

  • Step 8: Repeat steps 3, 4, 5 and 6 for “Configure Row 2”

Congratulations! You now have an arched window with 2 rows and 2 panels, as shown below.

At this point, you can either already load the window, or proceed with the configuration until he has the desired configured window.

The available filters and options are a bit different for every window or door type, but for the purpose of documentation, the ones for the arched window are listed below:

When you have the desired configuration, you can either download the revit file, load it into Revit, or load and place directly into his current active Revit model, by pressing one of the action buttons on the top right section.

For loading and placing in Revit, press the load and place button like shown below.

You will then be able to place the window wherever you sees fit on your model.
