Daikin releases a plugin for Revit to provide the user with a fully integrated experience of its BIM library for Revit.

One can download an installer for Windows from the Daikin BIM Application Suite on https://daikin.thorbiq.io/. After agreeing on the Terms of Use, the addin is available for free to anyone using the Daikin BIM Content (see this article on how to install a ThorbiQ Revit plugin).

Installing the plugin manifests itself on three levels in Revit.

1. Daikin ribbon tab

A specific ‘Daikin ribbon tab’ provides easy access to the Daikin Object Selector where a user can choose to download a Revit Family to disk or load it straight into the model. See these articles for the default ThorbiQ behaviour.

Additional Daikin functionality is provided to help the user to work with the Daikin Revit Families in an optimal way and fixing some of the issues which are not solved natively in Revit.

2. Add-Ins ribbon tab

At the native Add-ins tab, the ThorbiQ panel is installed. Here you will find the default ThorbiQ functionalities. Read these articles to understand their functions.

3. Contextual ribbon tab

On the ‘Modify ribbon tab’, a contextual ‘Daikin panel’ will appear when one of the objects of Daikin has been selected. It provides commands that are applicable only to the selected items.
